The KIX Dehydrator can be used in several process configurations which are usually derived from Three basic groups:

DIRECT DRYING

Many products like Minerals, Cassava and some low oil fish varieties can be directly processed in the KIX dehydrator requiring only proper pre-sizing. (more)

RENDERING

When the oil content in the raw material is high or when this oil has an economic advantage then extracting it from the product is a commonly used option. There are two types of rendering: Dry and Wet. In Dry Rendering the oil is extracted from the Dried product while in Wet Rendering a portion of liquid containing the oil is extracted from the raw material. Because of the KIX dehydrator's intrinsic characteristics it is suitable for Wet Rendering Only. (more)

CO-DRYING

When extracting oil from the material is not profitable or both the dry meal and the oil are to be re-mixed as commonly happens in animal feed manufacturing the KIX is the only dehydrator that can technically offer the option known as Dilution or Co-drying where a compound feed is produced form the mix of the proteinaceous raw material and a grain source such as corn or wheat.
